Description
Interface board for Markforged Mark Two printer standard wiring harness(es) - breaks out to generic 3d printer control board connectors. This is a general purpose board with the following features (with some additional features through additional wires that can be populated in some of the unpopulated pins of the gantry wiring harness):
- 5 Stepper motors (X,Y,Z,E,C)
- X, Y, E(Plastic Extruder) and C(Fiber Extruder) on the Gantry. The connections for the E stepper (Plastic Extruder) are also duplicated on the hotend cable so as to allow for a build with a direct drive extruder instead of the Bowden setup.
- Note: This direct drive deployment scenario necessitates correct jumper soldering on the companion hotend portal board as the extruder connections are overloaded on some standard Mark Two hotend pins. Documentation will be updated for this and in the meanwhile, you may get in touch with me at nishant.vats@gmail.com for details/help setting this up.
- X, Y, Z limits.
- E limit + Encoder input from gantry to use an advanced filament runout sensor.
- Additional wire lines for a NeoPixel String to the gantry, and a 12V/24V selectable "always on" Gantry LED Strip. The Mark Two comes with a 12V LED strip.
- Heated Bed capabilities - this too, requires careful jumper soldering in order to enable the feature and is overloaded with the second heater (fiber nozzle) on the standard Markforged machine.
- The board can also be used as a simple bridge between two of the proprietary FPC that Markforged uses for its hotend. (This will allow for standard length FPCs to be used instead of the harder to procure length needed for the gantry).
