Description

This is an adaption of a 12volt Sealed-Lead-Acid (SLA) Float Battery Charger project found on "electronics 4 U" website. I have changed it to a Solar Powered Battery Float Charger, which can accept a 12volt or 24volt Solar Panel input of no more than 3amps.

Voltage Regulator LM317HV limits the voltage and current going to the 12v SLA Battery.

Instuctions for setting the Float Charge at the Test Points are on the schematic. Jumpers are provided for setting these required volatges.

OpAmp LM358 is a differential amp that will turn on or off transistor Q1, depending on the level of the Battery voltage.

A Power Switch to the battery is provided to turn off the charging circuit when the "FULL" LED is lit, so the battery can be used to power other systems, etc.

Circuit is unverified.
