Description
This circuit receives an analog input from 0V to 5V and converts this signal proportionally to the scale from 0V to 9V to the Gate of the High-voltage Mosfet IXTF02N450 manufactured by littelfuse.com. This company donates components to research projects developed in universities in the USA (ask them for free samples at littelfuse.com). The circuit controls the current that flows through the resistor of R6=82 Ohms. This Mosfet can handle 100mA with no problem, but it needs a heatsink. This Mosfet deals with high voltage (up to 3kV) in its drain terminal. This circuit is appropriate for controlling the current flowing through plasma in glowing arcs.
