Description

this project is a modified version of the Arduino-based Webasto Thermotop controller first created by Simon Rafferty The major alteration is that almost all components have been substituted for surface mount devices. Multiple additions have been to both the circuit and board design. I have created multiple exhaust temperature sensor options, for use with NTC thermistor as the original design intended or the optional k-type thermistor circuit now available for connection directly to the board using a screw type 2 pin header, An additional 6-pin header has been used for the connection of i2c devices and additional/spare analog inputs my intention for this header in my particular application implement an OLED display to monitor and display temperatures measured by the controller and battery voltage an onboard temp sensor has been used to monitor the temperature of the board itself due to the location of the board and concerns with overheating electronic under severe conditions the 6-pin electrical connector has an altered pinout also, adding power for the fuel pump directly from the board to aid in clean and tidy wiring. a ground pin for the water temp thermistor, The water thermistor series resistor value has been changed to suit the use of a commonly available bosch automotive coolant/liquid temperature sensor 0280130026 Please note, Adafruit pins no longer correspond to functions as outlined in Simon's or David's code, I give no guarantee for the readiness or completeness of this project or any document related to it I take no responsibility for any damages and or cost incurred from damage, due to design flaw misuse or negligence, if an issue is identified with my project please do not hesitate to bring this to my attention as my goal is to have a full functioning, safe and reliable project with a long lifespan credit Simon Rafferty credit David Mcluckie
