Description
Wi-Fi HaLow Hat for FireBeetle 2 Board ESP32-S3
This open-source project brings the Wi-Fi HaLow to the FireBeetle 2 Board ESP32-S3, extending its connectivity and functionality. Powered by the MM6108-MF08651-US module from Morse Micro, this hat enables robust, long-range wireless communication via Wi-Fi HaLow. Software support available using the mm-iot-esp32 sdk, offering developers a user-friendly environment for connecting to and leveraging the HaLow module's full potential.
In addition to supporting video and image capture and streaming via the FireBeetle 2, the hat includes a Stemma QT connector for quick, solder-free integration with a wide variety of sensors and peripherals. An onboard SD card slot allows for convenient data logging, local storage of video/image files, and more.
Key Highlights:
- Wi-Fi HaLow Connectivity: Enables reliable, long-range, low-power wireless communication.
- Built-in Stemma QT Connector: Easily connect compatible sensors and modules without the need for soldering.
- Onboard SD Card Slot: Add storage for logging, backup, or local data management.
- Open-Source Design: Fully customizable hardware for IoT developers and makers.
- Easy Integration: Compatible with the mm-iot-esp32 sdk, simplifying setup and development.
Whether you're designing a remote monitoring system, building smart IoT solutions, or experimenting with video streaming over Wi-Fi HaLow, this hat delivers a versatile and powerful platform for your projects.
RF Trace:
> Ensure you select the yes for the "Impedance Control" when ordering the PCB
To calculate the appropriate dimensions for the RF trace the JLCPCB Impedance Calculator. Targeted a trace with 50ohms impedence. Calculated based on JLCPCB's JLC04161H-7628 Stackup 4-Layer Impedance Control Stackup.
