Description
PCA9685 outputs is shift level with NPN-transistor to 12V (inverted so short single blink while booting ESPhome). Used transistor to fully open Mosfet otherwise it would generate a lot of heat. Nowq it keeps quite cool; ambient + few degrees. Would advice to ditch the linear voltage regulators though. 3.3V gets quite hot so dissipates amps. Not efficient. Or redesign +3.3V (and +5V) linear regulators or solder/hack swith mode power supply (those tiny Aliexpress regulators you can solder need voltage and cut pot trace (HW-613)).
PWM Ouputs of PCA9685 are near Input pins of 2N3904 transistors. You need to run short wires. The up side is you can buy complete module (like https://www.aliexpress.com/popular/pca9685.html )
