Description
This document provides a formal blueprint for advancing the project with the following objectives:
-
PCB Design: Integration of RAK11720 and NEO6 GPS modules on a PCB.
-
Power Management: Inclusion of a Li-ion battery input and a charging circuit based on the MCP73831, along with a USB Type-C charging interface.
-
Enclosure: Utilization of the Altinkaya DM-005 case for robust and aesthetic packaging.
-
Battery Voltage Monitoring: Implementation of a voltage divider feeding the ADC, with an automated shutdown if the battery voltage falls below 3.68V.
-
Additional Components: Incorporation of LS3DH, HT21SMD, and TPS7250 to enhance system functionality.
-
System Architecture
The tracking device is designed around several core elements:
-
RAK11720 LoRa Module: Enables long-range wireless communication.
-
NEO6 GPS Module: Provides precise geographic positioning data.
-
MCP73831 Charging Circuit: Manages safe charging of the Li-ion battery.
-
USB Type-C Port: Facilitates modern and user-friendly charging.
-
Battery Voltage Monitoring: Utilizes a voltage divider connected to the ADC; the system initiates shutdown if voltage drops below 3.68V.
-
Additional Components:
-
LS3DH Sensor: Integrated for motion detection and orientation sensing.
-
HT21SMD Module: Added for enhanced sensing capabilities.
-
TPS7250 Regulator: Ensures efficient voltage regulation and power management.
