Description
PCB Design Assignment 2: IR Sensor Module
Objective: Design a IR Sensor Module (Object Detection Sensor)
Background: An IR sensor module is commonly used for object detection in various robotics and automation projects. This module works by emitting infrared light through an IR LED, which is then reflected back by an object and detected by a photodiode. The signal is processed using an operational amplifier (Op-Amp) to give an appropriate output. The module is commonly used for proximity sensors, line-following robots, and obstacle detection systems.
Component List :
▪️ IR LED: Emits infrared light
▪️ Photodiode: Detects reflected infrared light
▪️ Op-Amp (LM358): Amplifies the signal from the photodiode
▪️ Resistors: ▪️ R1: 100Ω (for current limiting the IR LED)
▪️ R2: 10kΩ (bias resistor for the photodiode)
▪️ R3: 330Ω (current limiting for output LED)
▪️ Potentiometer (RV1): 10kΩ (used to adjust sensitivity)
▪️ LED1: Output indicator LED
▪️ Connectors
