Description

Arduino based DCC booster, based upon the design of Dave Bodnar and the Dutch BNLS Booster. Changes: 1) DCC input resistance increased to 1k5 (Resitor gets pretty hot for DCC voltages above 14V) 2) Added circuit with LED to indicate if DCC is present (visually) 3) Output of optocoupler is trated in the way it is done for the BNLS booster. 4) Outpunt of optocoupler is coupled to Arduino pin 2. This will prevent that the booster will give a DC output to the trask, in case there is no DCC input. 5) Sketch need addition modificaitons It still need lot of work and is far from finished. The concept is tested on breadboard and it does work. Ideas for future updagrades: 1) dipswitch for DCC input voltage (choose correct resistance) 2) Add Loconet circuit, creating a Loconet Booster (Although I am not sure this can be done in te Sketch, since I have not seen anybody doing this) 3) Autocorrect DC input- output direction (For doing this it need a fixed build of hardware).
