IdealDiodeFPV LITE

This IdealDiode circuit let you keep your drone powered while you change the LiPo.

 

The quick and old way to parralel power a drone was to se a Y spliter with XT60 plugs, this cause the "empty" battery to be powered from the "fresh" or "pit power", LiPos does not really like this and even if it's only for 5 seconds, this will impact the performance of your batteries.

 

This circuit should handle 3 to 12S (12.6 to 50.4v), with minimum 10v and max 60v.

This also should handle 50Amps continuous and 100Amps peak, in any case the XT60 connector can only officially hold 60Amps continuous. Be aware that the PCB copper thickness is really important, use 2 oz for outer copper weight.

 

Ideal Diodes are like diodes but much better, lower voltage drop, higher power dissipation and higher current overall.

With this circuit, you have your main battery that power the drone, then when you need to replace it, plug a secondary battery or power source into the PIT plug, the current will only be able to flow to the drone and not into the empty battery, then unplug the empty LiPo and plug a new one, finaly unplug the PIT power, voila ! you've just changed your FPV drone battery in F1 pit style.

 

This LITE version only feature one circuit to protect the main battery only, LITE version "protect" only one battery: named BATT or Main Battery.

I have another one circuit that duplicate the electronic for the other battery, it's entend is to fly the drone while having parallel batteries plugged in, it can be used for PIT battery swap as well.
