Description

Description

This will be the main board I use for RGB conversion inside a console. Some consoles already have Y/C so if you want YPbPr you only need two op amps and a RGB source. Basically what I am saying is **if you want only YPbPr and already have Y and RGB don't use this as there is a much simpler way to do it**. The board named "version 2" is a older version which did not consider sync or clock buffering. It can be used only if you calculate sync resistances/voltages correctly. For the newer board adjust R4 (400ohms) if needed. You want to set it so the sync value input can trigger from 300mv (halfway between 0v and 600mv) all the way to 5V. Refer to simulation https://tinyurl.com/ybquzn2x,. This has still not been tested. I might adjust to a TTL buffer instead since that would be cheaper (the tradeoff would be that this device would only allow TTL sync as it's input). Either way do not order this yet (unless you know what you are doing) but the rest of the circuit should be good enough to function. What the sync buffer should be doing (at r4 at 400 ohms) would be turning on 5V at inputs above 350mv and turning off below 350mv. Depending on the speed of the op amp this could noticeably change the width of sync., My hope is that any potential changes are within the tolerance of error that devices will accept with no issues., I still do not know what consoles this would be needed in; it should be for consoles with RGBs + CLK. That would mostly be modded consoles. The kits I make already have "expansion boards" or otherwise output YPbPr, CV, and S-Video natively. TLDR I made this on a whim give me some time to validate the design.
