Description
Overview: The electronic clock at home always feels too small, and the display effect is average. In addition, electronic clocks are generally Arabic numerals, 24-hour system or 12-hour system, I don't say bad, but I have used quartz clocks since I was a child, I am not used to seeing them, I think quartz clocks are the most comfortable, big, and there is no strange LED light color pollution, I know the approximate time at a glance, I don't need precise time, accurate time always gives people a sense of anxiety, depression, I live in the countryside, I like this kind of comfortable, free feeling of time.
Status: Quartz clocks are currently sold in major supermarkets, commissaries, and grocery stores, large and small, but the power supply is unified with dry batteries, and the batteries have to be replaced every few months.
Optimization: This project is designed with a simple and inexpensive module, which can make the quartz clock maintenance-free and always be able to supply power, which can not only enjoy the look and feel of a large clock, but also be maintenance-free and trouble-free.
Implementation: After receiving the board, remove the 2 squares in the middle of the board, set aside, and then weld the device, and then weld the 2 squares to the end of each other, the small one is welded to the head (positive electrode), and the large one is welded to the tail (negative electrode)
Option 1: The device as shown in the following figure, if you don't need lighting, you can empty it:
Option 2: If there is no farad capacitor, you can paste multiple ceramic capacitors instead, but the time may be shorter when the power is off:
The purpose of these capacitors and farad capacitors is that the clock can operate normally even in short blackouts, avoiding the need to re-correct the time.
How to arrange the lighting: as shown in the figure below, the welding arrangement, pay attention to the movement installed on the motherboard, and the photoresistor should be facing outward.
Note for TYPE-C welding: When the socket is welded, pay attention to a little tilt to facilitate the insertion of the TYPE-C charging cable.
Use: Finally, find a 5V200mA and above power adapter, a TYPE-C charging cable, and always plug in the mains power supply to the quartz clock.
