Description

Welcome to the Open qLAMP electronic files repository! This space houses the main PCB required for creating our open source, cost-effective fluorimeter. Leveraging the accessibility and affordability of digital fabrication, our aim is to bridge the gap in global health and decentralized science by facilitating hands-on access to biotechnologies. This endeavor strives to move beyond just prototyping and seeks to aid in the mass production of devices, enabling practical applications such as diagnosing SARS-CoV-2 in resource-constrained regions, detecting GMO elements in food, and identifying early signs of fungal infestation in chestnut plantations, amongst many other utilities.

 

You'll find detailed board and schematic files in this repository which are necessary to manufacture two key components of the Open qLAMP device:

 

  1. Main Board: This consists of an LED PCB and a main board, that should be made under standard 2 layer FR4 parameters.
  2. Heated Lid and Heater: They require a flexible PCB with an aluminum stiffener, the placement areas of which are clearly indicated in the provided board file.
