I am looking for a way to hide/remove all parts of a footprint's silkscreen for cosmetic purposes.

In the thread "Yes/No option for part silkscreen" https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Yes-No-option-for-part-silkscreen-64f637c0b33d49c89bfddf1c3305e8c9, @andyfierman indicates:

One option is to clone the Footprints and move the unwanted bits of the silkscreen onto the Document or Mechanical layers so that it's visible to you during layout but is not present on the finished PCB.

That was two years ago. Is this still the recommended way to do it?

If so, then how do I "clone the Footprints" (in EasyEDA Pro)? I understand the concept at a high level, but I do not know how to accomplish it :-)  Can someone provide details on what I need to do?

Thanks
