I am trying to order 2 assembled PCBs with size 10x14mm. That's the size of a fingernail! However, order weight is estimated at 2.14 KG, which removes all the economy shipping options and makes shipping cost like $60-90, double or triple the price of manufacturing. I've read articles where people order normal-sized assembled PCBs (~10cm) and get normal order weight (~300g). If I disable SMT, the weight is reasonable (130g). Is there an error with calculation of my order weight? Or do they ship SMT orders in a steel box?
