LibrarySuitable workflow process to import SamacSys component parts

I had this all worked on in the standard version. It was very straightforward, but I am now struggling to find a suitable, smooth workflow process to import component parts into the Pro version.

If the part is not available on EasyEDA, I will search to see if it listed on Samacsys and download.

Then next step is to import. In the standard version I typically used KiCad as my fail-safe option. I zip up the files and import the KiCad package. With the pro version of EasyEDA this method does not work. The Pro version does not like having the device/symbol and footprint having the same name and it does not allow you to then modify the footprint, like a rename function. Instead it throws up an error and I then have to manually change names before importing. This is much much slower than before.

So which is better, if KiCad does not work. Any suggestions.

The nice thing with the Pro version is that it accepts the SamacSys 3d model (STEP).

However I am really struggling to understand the Pro version linkage method. What gives. Where do I go to adjust the model to fit the footprint. It is so not very intuitive.

It just does not make sense to me. So any guidance in this area is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
