📦 Project Description:
This project is a portable high-voltage arc generator, often referred to as a "taser" for educational and research demonstrations. It uses a DC 3V–6V to 400kV boost converter to create visible electrical arcs, simulating how high-voltage discharge systems work.
⚠️ Disclaimer:
This device is intended only for educational, testing, or scientific display purposes. It should not be used on humans or animals, as it can be dangerous and potentially illegal depending on your local laws. Use at your own risk.
🔋 Hardware Components:
-
1x 3.7V 2200mAh Li-ion Battery (protected)
-
1x Charging & Protection Module (Type-C with boost output)
-
2x DC 3V–6V to 400kV Boost Step-Up High Voltage Generator Modules
-
Wiring, heat shrink, and solder
-
3D printed or laser-cut housing (optional for safety)
🔌 Circuit Overview:
-
Battery is connected to the charging/protection module:
-
BAT+
→ Battery Red (Positive) -
BAT−
→ Battery Black (Negative)
-
-
Output from module powers the high-voltage generator(s):
-
OUT+
→ Red wire of HV module -
OUT−
→ Black wire of HV module
-
-
A switch can be added between
OUT+
and the HV input for safe toggling.
🛠️ Tools Used:
-
Soldering Iron
-
Flux + Solder
-
Wire cutters/strippers
-
Multimeter (for voltage testing)
-
Safety glasses and insulated gloves
