I have been struggling to figure out how to re-save edited footprints in the EasyEDA Pro Desktop Client using Half-Online mode.

Here is my workflow. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong.

Step 1: Click on a component in schematic (that I previously made).

Step 2: In the property window, click the three dots next to the footprint attribute.

steps 1 and 2

Step 3: Click edit in the footprint viewer for that part

step 3

Step 4: Edit the footprint (add silkscreen, for example).

Step 5: Click File/Save to save the footprint changes. This does not work.

step 4 and 5

Step 6: An error ("[Error]: Please login") is generated when trying to save, asking me to login. If I try to click "save all" an additional different error is generated ("[Error]: Footprint <title> failed to update title/Please login")

step 6

What is the recommended procedure (step by step) for editing and then re-saving a footprint in the EasyEDA Pro Desktop client in Half-Online mode?

How can I avoid this error?

If the procedure is to somehow clone an existing footprint and edit/save that, then how do I delete the original footprint after this procedure.

Thanks,

Blake

Edit: I've figured it out after two days.

1. Click the bottom "Library" tab at the bottom of the editor.

2. Click the "Footprint" tab at the top of the library and then select your user-created footprint library.

3. Find your footprint and click edit.

solution1-3

4. Then edit your footprint.

5. Click File/Save.

6. Back in your PCB editor, right-click the old footprint.

7. Then select "Update Project Library"

8. Click yes.

9. Click okay.

Footprint has now been changed in the library.

[FYI, the reason I've edited this post instead of posting a reply with the answer is that replies can only, as far as I can tell, post up to three images and can not post images in-line.]
