STD sewing_machine_foot_control_Rev1.6
A replacement board for a common off the shelf electronic sewing machine foot controller. The provided board is not good. This board replaces that board and is tuned to work well with vintage singer sewing machine motors with a US (110-120V) supply.
It has been tested with a Singer 221, 222, 306w and 99.
It is a standard triac controller speed control that clips the mains to limit power into the motor. In comparison to the board it resplaced, it includes an X cap and an inductor for filtering. Also the range of clipping has been scaled to work well with the load of a singer motor.
The vintage foot controller is resistive and gets very hot in use. Also many of them have dangerous wiring as the insulation has crumbled. Replacing them for day to day use is a wise option.
The pedal it fits in can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Sewing-Machine-Electronic-Control/dp/B008MM5WG0
