LCD1602 I2C module

This project is a replica of a Chinese-designed board used for connecting an LCD1602 display to a microcontroller via the I2C interface. The primary purpose of this project is to provide an understandable schematic and board design (as good as i can do it) that can be easily built and used for similar applications.
The schematic is based on an existing board design as well as other publicly available schematics found online.

The board is expected to work with most microcontrollers that support I2C communication, including Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, STM32, and others. However, I have not tested it , so I cannot guarantee its full functionality.
