Description
What is a Soft Latching Power Switch?
A soft latching power switch is an electronic circuit which allows a power circuit to be turned on/off using a momentary switch and stays in that power stated when the button is pressed until the button is pressed again.
Board Features
This board features a NE555DR Timing IC that is triggered by a momentary push button switch to turn the power on or off. When the input is connected, an LED will light up to show it is receiving power. When the latching switch is triggered to the on position, a different LED will light up to show power being sent to the output connection. It also contains a Bridge Rectifier to convert 12VAC signal into a 12VDC signal.
About this Project
This project was designed to allow the 12VAC signal to be converted into a 12VDC singnal on a snowmobile and utilize a soft latching power switch for the output to be turned on/off.
