Description
A prototype for my new mechanical computer keyboard, tentatively called the Boomerang Keyboard because of its shape. As of this writing, it is a 40% sized 48 key keyboard with built in support for individually addressable SK2812 LEDs and Lenovo Trackpoints with all three mouse buttons. Additionally, it can be used as a single unit held together with magnetic latches for travel and compact work areas, or it can be split apart and used as distinct left hand and right hand boards similar to the Ergodox keyboard. It is built specifically for Matias brand keyswitches. The LEDs are for informational indicators only and I DO NOT plan on running them all at maximum brightness all the time. Example LED uses include... When the keyboard's active layer is: Default: Light up ONLY the home row. For example, "asd" & "kl;" in white, "f" & "j" in blue. Navigation: Only light up hjkl, w, b in green in a nod to Vim's navigation keys. Caps Lock: Only light up the alpha keys in red. Stenography: Only light up the keys that are used for Stenography.
