STD [WIP] EPROM Arduino Shield
Mode:
WORK IN PROGRESS! The current design can read ROMs but is not yet capable of programming them.
This is an Arduino shield, suitable for Arduino Uno or Arduino Mega, allowing for reading and writing of ROM/EPROM/EEPROM chips, particularly the 27C256. The design is based on a working prototype I constructed using a perfboard shield.
The hardware consists of a 28-pin ZIF socket, a pair of 74HC595 shift registers for address lines, and a LTC1262 charge pump for providing 12V to the programming pin. The 74HC595 shift registers are driven by SPI.
Sample code for reading a ROM is attached.
