Description
Simple RJ45 cable tester concept.
I have not defined values for any of the components or tested the design.
Connect both ends of an RJ45 ethernet cable to the sockets and apply power.
The tester should cycle through each pin on RJ1.
A yellow LED will light to indicate which pin is under test.
A green LED will light showing which corresponding pin has continuity on RJ2.
A red LED will light for any other pin on RJ1 that is shorted to the pin under test.
V1.1 Edited to add a double pole switch and a momentary button. This allows selection between automatically sequencing through each wire to test or using the push button to advance to the next wire.
