Description
This project should be a HDMI EDID-Emulator Adapter. It should have a HDMI input and ouput and can be plugged into a sreen-device. In my case it should be connected to the Tang Nano 9k FPGA board, which has no connections to I2C for the EDID or the Houplug Detect. The HDMI-TMDS Signals are bypassed, to the screen while the EDID request is handled on the Adapter.
With it, a source can be tricked to think, it's still connected, which can be practical for cheap HDMI switches.
But in my case it should only handle the EDID and Hotplug Detect part of the HDMI/DVI protocoll.
On the Adapter PCB is also a little microcontroller, a USB to UARD ic and a USB-C port.
The user then has access over usb/serial interface to the microcontroller, toedit the EDID.
