Description

The Ultralogger is a model rocket flight computer for the 21st century. Integrating the best sensors, power management, and deployment channel solutions into a small PCB, this board is perfect for any model rocket, weather balloon, or RC plane. Whether your target apogee is 100 feet or 100,000 feet, the Ultralogger is the perfect tool for the job!

Specifications:

  • Fits in 29mm or larger body tubes
  • 3 customizable deployment channels
    • 2 high-current deployment channels
    • 1 multi-role deployment channel
      • Traditional high-current deployment output
      • Current-limited battery output, with adjustable current between 250mA and 1000mA
      • Current-limited 5v rail, with active current limiting to 300mA
      • Power mode can be dynamically changed in flight
  • 2 digital logic outputs with accompanying multi-role power outputs
    • Ideal for driving servos, controlling LEDs, or interfacing with other avionics systems
    • Power outputs can withstand perpetual short-to-ground in all modes.
  • Extensive sensor suite, with data logging up to 100Hz and logs in excess of 4 hours.
    • Altitude: 100,000 feet ASL, barometric measurement with 24-bit ADC, 8 inches resolution (MS5607)
    • High-G Acceleration: +/-200g in all 3 axes, 49mg resolution (ADXL375)
    • Precision Acceleration: +/-16g in all 3 axes, automatic-adjusting scale for maximum resolution, resolution <0.05mg (ICM-42688-P)
    • Gyroscope: +/-2000dps in all 3 axes, automatic-adjusting scale for maximum resolution, resolution <0.005dps (ICM-42688-P)
    • Current consumption and voltage of 4 power domains (INA219)
      • Deployment channels 1/2, channel 3, logical voltage, USB input
    • Battery precise state-of-charge, estimated remaining life (MAX17048)
    • Ambient temperature and humidity (HDC1080)
  • Advanced power management systems
    • A high-efficiency buck-boost converter allows the battery's full capacity to be used, increasing the chance of recovery.
    • Multi-stage battery protection circuitry ensures no damage to your batteries due to over-discharge, over-charge, or short-circuit.
    • Integrated high-speed battery charger charges 18650 from 0% to 100% in 3 hours
      • Not fast enough? Ultralogger supports swapping to a fully charged 18650 to keep flying non-stop!
    • Active USB-C power negotiation to adjust charging speed to your computer or charger's capabilities.
    • Fast-response power multiplexer allows the system to run on USB or battery power, and hot-swap
      • Demand balancing to supplement heavy loads (like deployment) with battery if USB is overwhelmed
      • Fully rated for mid-flight swapping, allowing for break-away at-pad umbilical power or internal supplementary batteries.
    • Low-drain standby mode; batteries can stay in the Ultralogger in perpetuity, with no concerns of discharge
      • The system will automatically power on when charges are armed, or if the power button is pressed.
  • Redundant hardware safeties operating on independent power supplies to prevent misfires and glitches of deployment outputs.
  • Download flight data and configure settings over USB
  • Programmable 100dB recovery buzzer
