Description

Microsoft's open-source console, MakeCode arcade, allows you to write your own games with graphics programming! The main control Pico RP2040 screen is a 2.8-inch ili9341.

In addition to being used as a MakeCode development board, it can also be used as a Circuitpython and MicroPython development board!

I saw the open source firmware of this great god on Git, based on this firmware artboard: https://github.com/AqeeAqee/Arcade-Pico

Microsoft MakeCode URL: https://arcade.makecode.com/ You can find ready-made games on this URL to download to your console, or write your own!

Here's how to use it:

1. Use the Type-c data cable to connect to the computer, press and hold the BOOTSEL button and press and hold the switch to boot up, a USB flash drive will appear in the computer as follows:

2. Unzip the Arcade-Pico.zip in the attachment, and get the following file:

3. Copy the basic firmware of the 9341 screen to the USB flash drive of the RPI-RP2, and the game will automatically restart.

4. Press and hold the BOOTSEL button again, press the RESET button, then the RPI-RP2 USB flash drive will appear again, copy the .uf2 file of any game in the compressed package to the RPI-RP2 USB flash drive, then the game will automatically restart again, you can play happily!

5. If there is a problem in the above steps, please troubleshoot the hardware problem yourself! PS: Don't come and ask me, I'm also a novice on the road! ~

Here's how to download the game yourself:

1. Open the website :https://arcade.makecode.com/

Click 1.Settings, then 2.About

2. Click on the red box shown in Experiments

3. Select Enable Experimental Hardware and click Back.

4. After returning to the homepage, drop down and click to select a game, click Open Example;

5. After the game is opened, the interface is as follows, and you can modify the game by yourself; When you're done, click 1....2.Select Hardware

6. Scroll down and select R2

7. Click Download, and a game .uf2 file for RP2040 will be downloaded!

8. Connect the game console to the computer, press and hold BOOTSEL to boot it, and then drag the .uf2 file you just downloaded into the USB flash drive of RPI-RP2, the game console will automatically restart, and you can play happily again!!

Finished product drawing:

Don't ask why I didn't put it on the cover, because I drew a panel, but the drawing was small, and I didn't install it when I hit it back, so I didn't open source the file!
