Project Description

A low-cost macro microscope is formed with a webcam and a macro microscope lens.
Compact infinitely dimming ring fill light with in-house PCB.

 

Key features:

1. Macro camera part

  • 4 million pixels for clear imaging.
  • Network communication, only need to connect to the computer through the network cable.
  • The standard industrial lens C/CS interface meets the needs of different lenses in different scenes.
  • The working distance is 55-285mm, which is suitable for different inspection scenarios.

2. Ring fill light part

  • Support up to 32pcs 2835 package SMD LEDs to illuminate the beauty of your PCB.
  • Powered directly from the camera's power supply, no additional power supply is required.
  • Touch stepless dimming, the camera will not shake due to factors such as knob or button operation when dimming.

 

Design ideas

1. Macro camera part

It's very simple, assembly, plus the shell, wiring, can be used, no skills.

The shell is modeled with Fushion360.

The 3D model is placed in the attachment.

2. Camera bracket

Using the combination of desktop fixture + magic hand + crab claw clamp, you can flexibly change the shooting angle and height.

3. Ring fill light part

The power input part is equipped with an anti-reverse diode to prevent a wave from taking away.

The TPS563201 of Ti is used as the DCDC chip, and the inductor is made of 4020 mini package to reduce the size of the module.

SGL8022W is used as a touch dimming chip, which is more commonly used and has an ideal effect.

The lamp ring is divided into 4 90° sectors, each sector has 8 LEDs, reducing the driving pressure (but I don't think this design is good, and then the revision will adopt the design of staggered lamp beads with different drive controls, so that if you choose to use fewer lamp beads, you can weld less one drive and reduce costs.) Anyway, this pit is dug first, and then it will be updated when I have time)

Note: The circuit input part does not add a power interface, mainly in order to reduce the volume, you can directly solder the leads, if you need to add terminals, break the pins like me and solder it, you need to pay attention to the diode and the two pads on both sides are not electrically connected, do not short circuit.

Instructions for making ring lights:

The board is to use the PCB under the "integrated lighting board" catalog (the "split auxiliary lighting board" is a simple light board, without control circuit, for reference only, you can also modify it yourself).

When soldering, soldering lamp beads first, it is best to go to the heating table, there is no heating table It is recommended to use hot air to blow and weld from the back (bottom surface) of the PCB, and it is easy to cause the LED to turn yellow by blowing directly from the front, and there is a probability of damage to the LED.

After soldering, test with the constant current (current limiting) mode of the adjustable power supply to make sure that there is no problem before soldering the lower part.

The reverse blowing method is shown in the following figure: (It is recommended to use low-temperature tin paste)

Then solder the DCDC part, energize it, and test whether the output voltage is normal.

Then solder the touch light control part, there is a mini pad on the side of the touch detection pin, you can insert a resistor leg into it as a lead out, power on, and confirm whether the function is normal.

If you need to mount the control board vertically (like in my picture), break the board along the red line in the image above and trim the burrs.

On the far left is the touchpad, which is stacked and welded, and you can see how to weld it when you look at my finished product.

The vertical soldering part of the contact of the control module is as shown in the figure, try to pile more solder to increase stability.

4. Software part

Directions for use:

1. Open the monitoring interface.

2. Double-click the IP address of the camera.

3. Double-click the full-screen display button.

2. The camera line sequence is as follows:

It is limited to the same model of camera I bought, for reference only, and should be confirmed with the merchant before use.

3. Shell installation sequence

First, attach the lens mount spacer to the camera module.

Then install the lens module into the 3D printed housing.

Then confirm the mounting direction (hole position) of the lens, and install the lens mount through the hole at the bottom of the shell (there is a little bevel on the outside of the lens mount, and some skill is required for installation)

Make sure the lens mount is in place and put on the lens mount fixing screws.

Finally, screw the camera module and install the lens.

The camera part is installed.

4. All 3D models are in the attachment, welcome to pick up

The installation tolerances of the model are designed according to the printing accuracy of my own printer, if you find that it does not install well when reproducing, please correct it.

5. Pay attention to electricity safety

Please use an independent power supply to confirm that the ring light is working properly before using the camera power supply to prevent damage to the camera module caused by the abnormal circuit of the fill light.
