Description

Our project is about a patient bed designed to facilitate the treatment pressure sore and help the patients with the following difficulties;
• Patients who has difficulties at moving
• Paralytic patients
• Patients who are at intensive care services and palliative care services
At the project, on the contrary to common patient beds with button controller used in intensive care services and palliative care services we aim to provide remote access to the beds and improve the features of patient beds by using IOT (Internet of Things)
Today IOT objects are used in many areas and makes people’s life easier. We can make innovations by adding IOT to the patient beds and provide easy, fast, understandable and different solutions to the problems that patients and patient’s relatives have.
For example, touching the patients who has infectious disease or has the risk to get infectious disease can be risky for both the patient and personnel. In this situation, it can be possible to control the bed by connecting with RF control panel  or Bluetooth connection.
On the other hand, it is necessary to move the patients especially who are partly or totally paralytic to prevent decubitus sore. It can be difficult for the hospital personnel or patient’s relatives to check the movement times. It also requires an important amount of human work. Our project, aims to eliminate this problem by moving the patient in a set of times (30,60,120 minutes) and a set of angles (15,30 degrees)
Our project also provides solutions by ventilating the bed and bed sheet to prevent decubitus disease. After the patient move the ventilation system works automatically and this improves the comfort of the patient. There are special cuts and enough holes on the bed to make the ventilation easier.
Our patients who are not able to use their hands can control the bed by voice. They can call their relatives and make video chats. This situation will make them to feel that they are self-sufficient.
Considering all of these, the time of patients’ intensive care will reduce. The work and human force will reduce. Hospitals and intensive care services will work efficiently. We will make a bed which is valuable in the field of health, has commercialization potential, exportable and minimizes the problems.
