Description
This Digital FM Radio can tune the entire US FM Broadcast Band, three buttons allow the user to change station and volume. The enclosure is a simple, rugged, and spacious design optimized for manufacture on fused deposition method (FMD) 3D printers. Volume can be adjusted in 16 discrete levels. The audio ground wire of the user’s headphones acts as an antenna so no external antenna is required. A 8 character 5x7 dot matrix LED display displays basic volume and channel information as well as FM Radio Data System (RDS) information such as the channel name, song name, and time. After a period of button inactivity the display turns off to conserve battery. The radio operates off of two AA Alkaline cells.
Note there is an error, the display will not light unless you short pins 22 and 21 (VLOGIC and SEL) together. You can use a small wire segment to do this.
