Description
Once the reed switch is activated, the first LM555 timer acts as a delay (to delay the activation of the motor) before the second LM555 timer is activated. The purpose of this delay (the first LM555) is to prevent any unintentional reed switch triggers to trigger the motor, thus if the reed switch is shut off before the first timer completes, the motor won't activate. If the first timer completes, the second timer is activated and turns the motor on for a set amount of time which will result in basically a 180-degree rotation of the motor and will clamp the venous tubing.
