The input and output is protected using Polyfuse 1.25A and 2.75A respectively, although these can be changes as the components are rated to control a low ripple of 700mv at 5amps.

Bear in mind that if the fuses are changed then heat sink should be placed over the tlps5450 as this will heat up.
