Project Description – NFC Business Card

This project presents the design and development of a compact NFC-enabled business card using a custom Printed Circuit Board (PCB) integrated with an NTAG213 NFC chip and a spiral PCB antenna (coil). Unlike traditional paper business cards, this smart business card enables instant wireless sharing of digital information such as contact details, portfolio links, social media profiles, websites, and email addresses by simply tapping the card with an NFC-enabled smartphone. The PCB was designed to optimize antenna performance while maintaining the standard dimensions of a business card, ensuring reliable communication and a professional appearance. The NTAG213 chip was selected for its low power requirements, compatibility with the NFC Forum Type 2 standard, and broad smartphone support. Since the tag is passively powered by the electromagnetic field generated by the reader, the card requires no battery, making it maintenance-free and highly durable. This project demonstrates practical applications of NFC technology, RF antenna design, and PCB development while providing an eco-friendly and reusable alternative to conventional business cards. It showcases how embedded electronics can be integrated into everyday networking tools to enhance convenience and digital connectivity.
