Description

This project focuses on the design and development of a custom multi-port USB Hub PCB that expands the connectivity of a single USB interface into multiple USB ports. The main objective of this project was to create a compact, reliable, and professionally designed USB expansion solution suitable for embedded systems, computers, and portable electronic applications.

The hub is designed using a dedicated USB hub controller IC with proper USB data line routing, power management, and signal integrity considerations. The PCB includes multiple USB Type-A and Type-C connectors, ESD protection components, decoupling capacitors, and power filtering circuits to ensure stable operation and protect connected devices. A carefully designed power distribution network provides sufficient current delivery to multiple USB peripherals while maintaining safe voltage levels.

The PCB layout was developed with high-speed USB differential pair routing techniques, maintaining impedance control and minimizing signal interference. The board was designed using professional EDA tools, followed by 3D visualization and manufacturing preparation to verify component placement, mechanical clearance, and overall design quality.

This project demonstrates practical knowledge of USB communication protocols, PCB design, hardware interfacing, power management, and high-speed digital circuit design. The final prototype provides a compact and efficient USB expansion platform that can be integrated into various electronics and embedded applications.
