Description
KY-040 Rotary Encoder Module
This project is a custom-designed breakout module for the KY-040 incremental rotary encoder, developed to provide a compact, reliable, and easy-to-integrate solution for embedded systems and microcontroller projects.
The PCB is optimized for clean signal routing and straightforward assembly, exposing the encoder's quadrature outputs (CLK and DT), integrated push-button (SW), power, and ground through clearly labeled header pins. The module is compatible with popular development boards such as ESP32, Arduino, STM32, and Raspberry Pi Pico, making it suitable for user interfaces, menu navigation, parameter adjustment, robotics, CNC controllers, IoT devices, and other embedded applications.
Designed with a focus on reliability and ease of use, the PCB simplifies wiring while maintaining stable signal integrity for accurate rotary input detection. Its compact form factor makes it ideal for both prototyping and production-ready hardware designs.
